Keeping the Flame Alive: One Cup at a Time

This past weekend, we had the honor of joining the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida at their Keeping Her Flame Alive event—a beautiful day dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of Judy Candis.

From the moment we arrived, the air was filled with warmth, laughter, and that unmistakable sense of community that makes Tampa feel like home. There were delicious BBQ plates, sweet treats, live music, and an energy that radiated Judy’s spirit—connection, kindness, and care.

We set up our Recovery Beans table, serving freshly roasted coffee and handing out free cold brew. What struck us most wasn’t just how many people stopped by for a cup—it was how many lingered to talk, to share stories, and to connect. Coffee has a funny way of doing that. It slows us down just enough to open our hearts.

At Recovery Beans, we’ve always believed that coffee can be more than caffeine—it can be a bridge. Every cup you share with a friend, every brew poured at an event like this, helps build something larger than ourselves: community.

We’re so grateful to have been part of such a meaningful gathering—one that not only honored Judy’s light but also brought help and hope to families impacted by breast cancer right here in Central Florida.

To everyone who stopped by our table, thank you for sipping with purpose and helping us keep the flame of compassion burning bright. Together, we’re brewing hope—one cup, one smile, and one story at a time. 💗☕

With love and gratitude,

The Recovery Beans Team
